It's Thursday, nearly the weekend, and getting us in the mood, is a real wedding with a unique style. Bride Grainne is a talented tattoo artist with her own studio in Magherafelt so with an artistic background it's no surprise that from start to finish Grainne and Edward added a personal touch to every detail of their Autumn wedding in Castle Leslie Estate captured beautifully by Simple Tapestry.
Our lovebirds decided to say 'I do' in the beautiful St Mary's Chapel in Portglenone, Looking seriously handsome in navy blue, Edward and the boys are ready waiting the lady of the hour...
We fell in love with Grainne's doll like features and big blue eyes, her unconventional short gown with extra tulle, floating peplum layers, sheer sleeves and detailed neckline paired with her gorgeous curly bob and baby's breath crown-birdcage veil.
As one would expect from a tattoo artist, Grainne had a very distinct and cool style for her bridal look - channelling this season's nod to the 80s, Grainne designed her own beautiful dress as well as her bridesmaids dresses with the help of Kerry Madden of KM Couture. As for the bouquets, they were handmade fabric looped bouquets made by Boudin who Grainne found on Etsy. She added some extra flowers and also added the same flowers to the bridesmaids shoes. Such a crafty bride!
For the reception, Castle Leslie Estate couldn't have been a more perfect choice, for this time of year. The castle overlooks the mythical green lake, which is surrounded by some of the finest woodland in the country. When the leaves start to turn, the view is just breathtaking - providing an epic backdrop for the wedding portraits.
The boat house is a particular favourite for couples, such a romantic settling with the gorgeous weeping willows framing each shot.
That's right girls flash those petticoats!
After all the hard work being photographed (my heart bleeds) it was time to relax and enjoy some well-earned bubbles...
The glass-fronted marquee in Castle Leslie overlooks the formal gardens and down to the lake, so the outside feels almost inside, Grainne decided to continue the theme with woodland inspired table decor - our creative bride collected all the jam jars and made printed labels for them, adding lavender, baby's breath and local flowers to make up the table centrepieces, complemented by hand-drawn bespoke stationery by Grainne herself.
Castle Leslie is full of wonderful rooms to wander before and after the meal, full of nooks and crannies to steal a few moments with an old friend for a quiet catch up.
There's the famous Uncle Jack (you've heard the Paul McCartney story, right?)
After all the hard work and planning, it's important to take a moment to appreciate what a wonder a wedding really is - as Grainne and Edward put it "It really was the best day of our lives. Thanks to everyone who shared in it with us."
Congratulations to the happy couple, Grainne and Edward. And of course, a big thank you to Simple Tapestry for sharing her beautiful images with us.
