Ladies do we have the wedding of the year for you to feast your eyes on this sunny Monday morning. So fabulous we had to make it a two part love story!  If you are looking for a wedding that offers up style, sophistication and a whole lot of romance then look no further then the jaw dropping nuptials of our very own resident fashionista Michelle and her oh so handsome husband Clem, who said I do in the stunning Chateau Rigaud in France. With so much creativity and style to capture, the loveirds called on the talents of  Mamazelle Photographie to share all the lovely details...

Before we go any further we need to talk about the stationery. Could it be any more gorgeous? Vintage floral handkerchiefs, hand printed, wrapped up in twine and delivered to each guest - amazing! Michelle and Clem's friend Emily who is a trained graphic designer has begun to make her friends beautiful, customised invitations perfect for each couple and wedding. She's an amazing talent and has so much patience - just what a bride needs! This certainly set the scene for what was to come...

So how did our glam gal Michelle meet her beau Clem? Michelle gave us all the juicy details... "We were introduced by Clem’s friend Roger aka “The Big Show” many moons ago on a night out in The Gallery nightclub in Limerick when we were about 16.  It was love at first sight for him apparently (ha!) but I wasn’t quite so convinced by his Oasis hairstyle. After many a night flirting we had a brief kiss in October 1997 in Docs Nightclub but alas the Shannon divide kept us apart. A long seven years later we started to meet socially quite regularly through mutual friends and one fateful night in the classy establishment that was the Trinity Rooms (formerly Docs… we should really have had our wedding there…) we finally got together."

We love a good auld Irish hook up!vWhat better way to strike up a romance than a sneaky kiss in a nightclub.

Clever Clem didn't take any chances with the ring when it came to popping the question. He was so prepared he brought three different engagement ring options for Michelle to choose from - what a great idea! The proposal wasn’t very extravagant but it was intimate, romantic and a complete surprise to Michelle. She arrived at Clem's house on Christmas Eve and even though he was armed with a bottle of champagne and a cheeky grin, Michelle was completely shocked when he popped the big question... "I was completely overwhelmed, bawled like a baby and spent the next week in a bubble. We were living in different counties at the time so it was such a special time together and we got to celebrate with all our family and friends over the Christmas period."

Hello handsome! Not to be outdone by Michelle on the style stakes, Clem looked oh so dapper in his sharp grey suit from Reiss and navy blue accessories.

Here at One Fab Day, we are always saying you don't have to buy everything in the first bridal boutique you go to. Mix and match your accessories to reflect your own personal style. Michelle's choice of Karen Millen shoes really emphasise this point, they compliment her beautiful gown but don't compromise on style one bit.

If the bride and bridesmaids look this gorgeous in their dressing gowns, imagine what is to come! We are loving the fab robes Michelle got for her girls. It makes those 'getting ready' images so chic and stylish. If you are loving this look too, have a look here for our round up of  pretty floral robes that we put together.

Michelle's Maria Lucia Hohan dress is to die for. It's boho chic yet soft and romantic and is the perfect choice for a country wedding extravaganza. Never one to shy away from an extra touch of glam, Michelle opted to accessorise her gown with an amazing head piece from Enchanted Atelier that is stocked in Myrtle Ivory . It complimented the dress so beautifully and we love that by choosing not to wear a veil, it allowed the amazing detail of the back of her gown be seen in all of its glory.

Michelle and Clem decided to tie the knot in a gorgeous chateau in France. Michelle will be the first to tell you there are so many pros to having your wedding abroad, including being able to limit your guest list to close friends and family (those nosy neighbours are less likely to board a plane to France to have a snoop!). However she would also be the first to tell you it is hard work!  "Having a destination wedding really helped us to have the intimate wedding that we wanted with just the people that are close to us as opposed the huge number of guests we may have felt compelled to invite if we stayed in Ireland.  We spent A LOT of time researching venues abroad.  From the start we both wanted to go to France. From our days in Oz wine-tasting I imagined a gorgeous vineyard wedding in the countryside but we initially found it difficult to find venues in France on line.  One evening I had a light-blub moment and went on to my favourite travel website, i-escape.com and ticked the box for “weddings”. Low and behold two perfect venues came up, one of which was Chateau Rigaud.

Michelle's bridesmaids looked stunning in their floaty, feminine gowns form Mango and Ivory Lane. We are loving the amazing floral headband and as ever Michelle is bang on trend with this look for her special ladies. We did a round up of this blooming gorgeous (see what I did there) style a while back if it is a look you are keen to recreate on your special day.

Off they go...

Michelle looks so at ease and comfortable on her way to the church (or maybe she is excellent at hiding her nerves!) and with her proud dad by her side, she was on her way to meet her future husband at the top of the aisle.

One of Michelle's favourite moments of the day was when the doors into the church were opened and she was greeted with overwhelming love and affection from her friends, family and her husband-to-be waiting for her at the top of the aisle... "The entire day is now like a blur that I remember like snapshots.  The church doors opening and seeing it lit up by candles really took my breath away and seeing Clem for the first time when I got to the altar was amazing."

Michelle and Clem's friends and family helped celebrate their marriage throughout the ceremony in the beautiful Notre Dame church in Pujols. Michelle's sister Sarah sang “Kissing You”  and another friend, Aileen also sang one of Clem’s favourite songs, “Let There Be Love”. Including friends and family in your ceremony is a lovely way to reflect your personalities and put your stamp on the nuptials, not to mention making it super emotional!

Look at those smiling faces! Michelle and Clem's expressions really sum up how they were feeling in those first few moments of being husband and wife!

The braces...Too cute!

Michelle worked with Hayley Sutherland, the resident planner and stylist at Chateau Rigaud, to create her stunning bouquets and centre pieces. The pretty pastel colours, feminine lace and ribbons and the hand picked style all play a part in creating such a gorgeous combination.

The couple's friends and family certainly didn't let the side down when it came to wedding guest style on the day.

So there you have it, Part One of the style fest that was Michelle and Clem's wedding day. I think we need to take a break and recover from all of the gorgeousness so come back later on today to see the reception. Trust me... it doesn't disappoint!
