Let's get to know our bride... Bríd and Cian's paths crossed back in 2013 in a nightclub in Cork. Fast forward to their romantic proposal story: "I surprised Cian with a trip to Cancun, Mexico for his 30th birthday in June 2022 and he surprised me back by proposing on a beach in Cancun with a photographer!""
Describing her personal style as simple but edgy, when Bríd began planning her wedding wardrobe she wanted to wear different styles for each event: "I chose simple pieces and tried to glam them up with a funky, edgy detail." Having sourced all her outfits online, the bride-to-be found curating her wedding wardrobe harder than she initially thought it would be because she rarely wears white. "Also I think the pressure to chose something amazing is a lot, so you overthink everything you buy. In the end I just went back to basics and acted as if I was just picking something for a normal event!"
Starting off her wedding wardrobe on a supremely stylish note, Bríd wore a phenomenal Eva Lendel floral mesh jumpsuit.
My parents hosted a party in my childhood home in Limerick for 30 of our closest friends and family. We had cocktail makers with custom-named cocktails representing Cian and I, and catering, and we had an amazing night.
Heading off to Belfast for her jam-packed hen party bash, Bríd wore a fabulous fitted corset dress from House of CB paired with a custom-made white hair bow by Ciara Quinn Designs, and accessorised with the Yves Saint Laurent Cassandre Matelasse Envelope Chain Wallet bag in ivory and gold strappy heels.
Twenty of my closest friends and I went to Belfast for the May bank holiday where we did karaoke, cocktails, the prosecco bikes and a drag brunch (where I won a dance off and got everyone free cocktails) – the best weekend ever!
For the second night of her Belfast celebration, Bríd sported a pair of white slim leg trousers from Odd Muse and a gorgeous white knit lace detail top. In an extra special touch, Bríd added a custom-made pearl denim jacket engraved with her name and wedding date from Blossom Bridal.
Ahead of the big day at the Cashel Palace Hotel in Co. Tipperary, Bríd continued her celebrations in style for her rehearsal dinner at Mikey Ryan's in Cashel alongside her family and bridal party. Her chic ensemble was comprised of a white two-piece French connection suit, earrings from One Dame Lane, the Christian Louboutin So Kate 120 patent-leather pumps and a Louis Vuitton bag.
The white French Connection suit I wore the night before for the rehearsal dinner is just a really simple fitted piece I can re-wear.
Rounding out her fabulous wedding wardrobe at the couple's reception, Bríd wore a showstopping Eva Lendel gown with an over skirt which was removed later in the day to reveal a second look complete with a custom-made bow attached to back of the gown. For her accessories, she chose Jimmy Choo heels, a pearl bracelet, Untamed Petals drop earrings and an 80s inspired cathedral length custom veil with structured tulle to add volume.
For her something old, Bríd attached pearls from her mother's wedding dress to her bouquet, her 'blue' was the dust bag of her Jimmy Choo wedding heels and her 'borrowed' came in the form of a charm that her sister Niamh had attached to her own wedding bouquet two years ago: "My other sibling got it made with the four siblings initials engraved on it so we could all pass it around as our something borrowed on our respective wedding days.
My earrings were long pearl drop earrings with six drop down pearls and I feel they added my personality to the look. They were also named Harper which is my God Child's name which made them special to me.
Bríd had this advice for brides planning their wedding wardrobes:
Don’t over think it – you’re meant to look like you on your wedding day, so go with your own unique style and don’t try and change everything up. The way you usually dress is more than good enough!
