Shannan and Christopher's wedding day feels like it could have been plucked from the pages of a romance novel. The couple whisked 30 of their nearest and dearest off to Drenagh Estate in Co. Derry to celebrate their special day. The Georgian manor house in Limavady is a popular destination for couples who want their wedding day to be steeped in grandeur and romance, and Shannan and Christopher had both in spades. Wait until you see where they exchanged their vows. Your heart will melt when you see their young son Noah in his adorable wedding attire too. Experience all the magic with their wedding pictures exquisitely captured by Hanora McKernan.
Shannan and Christopher were engaged for three years before they got married and brought their fairytale day to life at a wonderful five-star venue. The manor house has eight luxurious bedrooms and we've no doubt waking up in the ornate bridal suite on the morning of the wedding was a moment Shannan will never forget.
Sost pastels were the order of the day, to complement Shannan's gorgeous bouquet of white and powdered pink blooms.
Their son Noah looked cute as a button in his outfit from Dee Graham which comprised of a white shirt, black shorts, white socks and black shoes. It also happened to be Noah’s third birthday the day after the wedding, so there was even more reason to celebrate!
Shannan was a vision in her Liz Martinez gown from The White Gallery which sported romantic floral lace embroidery and delicate sheer sleeves. She accessorised with a veil, a beaded crown and pearl drop earrings by Armagh designer Lori Muldoon. She slipped into statement stilettos to walk down the aisle, no less than Sophia Webster's butterfly heels! Meanwhile her bridesmaids wore TH&TH gowns in an ultra-light grey shade.
The couple held their ceremony in the Moon Garden at Drenagh Estate which is quite the awe-inspiring place to exchange vows, as the wall has a circular arch that looks out over the lush countryside.
The arch was the centerpiece of the ceremony display and pink and white flowers were swooped around the edge of it adding to the stunning scene. Candles were placed in glass containers at the foot of the arch while the chairs had white cloth draped on them that were speckled with leaves.
Ireland has many wonderful county house wedding venues that offer once-in-a-lifetime luxury and beautiful surroundings. Drenagh Estate sprawls over 1,000 acres so there are many bewitching backdrops for wedding photos. From ancient woodlands to picturesque gardens, it is such a romantic venue to celebrate the beginning of your happily ever after.
Indoors the magic only continues. The grand staircase was made even more enchanting as it was lined with a whimsical floral display. While the venue also offers marquee receptions, the couple decided to throw their bash in the manor house itself which is packed with character.
Before sitting down to dinner the wedding group toasted to the new Mr and Mrs.
The wedding party enjoyed an intimate dinner in the sophisticated surroundings of the drawing room, where the table was dappled with sweet surgary shades of flower arrangements with pastel candles creating a romantic glow. The tall brass candlestick holders dialled up the gorgeous grandeur.
The couple opted for a two-tiered cake that was simple and sophisticated, and boasted a large sheer bow.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Shannan and Christopher for sharing their wedding on One Fab Day and to Hanora McKernan for the delightful imagery.
