Inspired by the Villa Catignano, the team took the artistic elements from the ancient, original features from the beautiful frescoed walls, precious prints and beautifully crafted furniture, to the gardens and sparkling views, and used them in every element of the design including the stationery.
The uniquely romantic invitation suite was made by Elephant Limbo.
Donning her glamorous Monique Lhuillier gown, the bride got dressed among the Neoegyptian-style frescoes of Villa Catignano. The stunning engagement ring came from Balacia.
Dating back to the second half of the 16th century, Villa Catignano owes its current appearance to a late 17th-century renovation. You enter the villa through a beautiful wrought iron gate, supported by two travertine pillars, which leads into a romantic courtyard. Surrounding the courtyard is the main building, the farm, the stables and the chapel, built in 1697 based on a project by the Sienese sculptor and architect Jacopo Franchini. Exhibiting the epitome of old-world opulence, it was perfect for the shoot—the history of the Villa along with the Italian light adding to the ever-romantic wedding inspiration.
The villa, after being restored in the first half of the 20th century, is now a sought after wedding location for destination weddings in Italy. Part of Villa Catignano charm is its proximity to all the most popular cities and towns (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, and Arezzo).
The gardens feature dreamy views for miles upon mile everywhere you turn.
The mermaid gown by Monique Lhuillier is oh-so romantic with its feminine details. We adore the sweet floral and bird embroidery, low-back detail and those dramatic sleeves! The groom was stylishly dressed in white by Don Morphy.
As well as having an ancient private chapel inside the property, you can also opt to have an outdoor ceremony within the evocative framing of the statues of the Four Seasons in the Italian gardens.
The soft Italian light caressed the bride and groom while they explored the romantic gardens.
How positively dreamy is this set up for an al fresco dinner?
A romantic tablescape was set by an amazing creative designer, Taylor Olivares of Traveling
Weddings with Taylor. It featured a luxe velvet table cloth, brass candle sticks, sage green taper candle and linens alongside fresh fruits.
The gold flatware, ornate china, and glassware provided the old-world feel, and paper goods were ethereal and romantic in their shape, colour, and calligraphy.
The Fine Art florals in soft peach and cream tones by Vida Creative completed the romantic tabletop look perfectly.
The talented team behind the inspiration shoot honored and stayed true to romance, ethereal details, and old-world influence in every aspect of the design, which kept cohesion and let the beauty of the Villa and couple shine.
