If you're looking for inspiration for a small outdoor wedding, or maybe a spring/summer bridal shower celebration, this is the place to start. Boasting stunning florals, a soft pastel palette and lots of creative macramé details, todays dreamy forest shoot is just the thing to get your creative juices flowing! Wedding & Event Planner Sharon Thomas at Celtic Knot Events brought together a team of 12 Irish wedding creatives who together, created and crafted a romantic, magical forest inspiration honouring their Celtic heritage, promoting sustainability and the beauty of our landscape. Kate Bean Photography was the lady behind lens on and we're excited to share the results of the day with you all. Let's get stuck in, shall we?
Sharon of Celtic Knot Events tells us a little bit about the inspiration and styling of the shoot calling it a mix of, 'ethereal magic, eco-friendly wedding vibes in a mystical forest backdrop with mossy greens, and draped ivy vines paired with homegrown, locally foraged, and European grown florals in gorgeous greens and bright spring pastel colours.'
The beautiful makeup look was kept simple and understated to enhance Model Ruby's natural beauty. Her flowing locks of fiery red hair was styled into soft loose curls keeping with her own natural hair style. The finished looks were accessorised with a handmade recyclable gold crown with delicate florals for the first look, and a boho-style macramé hair piece for the second look.
Now that's what I call a statement wedding bouquet! Howe Hill Flowers done an exceptional job on the blooms, they look oh-so-magical. We're in awe of those huge Iceland Poppies!
The location for this beautiful boho-style shoot was Natural Events, a new, outdoor eco-friendly wedding venue, located in the Sheehy mountain range of West Cork. Nature-loving couples dreaming of getting hitched in a forest, this may be the perfect spot for you!
The décor was styled using sustainable materials such as the handmade macramé backdrop, bouquet holder and hanging décor, as well as with natural additions to the table setting such as linen napkins and tablecloth, wood slice chargers and handmade Water Hyacinth placemats. Fresh floral springs were placed with twine on each napkin to add an extra dash of pretty.
Lots of pretty styling ideas throughout from Celtic Knot Events and My Table Story - We love the use of these fun and contemporary candlestick designs in pastel shades.
This darling set up would be so sweet for an elopement, or even for a small bridal shower picnic!
Continuing with the eco-friendly theme, model Ruby wore revived vintage 1970's dresses, as well as a boho-inspired dress designed by Alice Halliday Couture which was sustainably and ethically created. The barefoot macramé sandals were also crafted from recycled cotton.
I think this stunning blush and gold wedding cake will inspire lots of couples planning an Irish wedding with an organic feel. It features a soft pink concrete stone-style icing finish, floral printed wafer paper and cascading pearl pink dried wheat.
We're loving this macramé backdrop which would make for the perfect focal point in your outdoor ceremony. If you're a fan of the crochet look, you'll love this post we did on macramé wedding décor ideas!
So many pretty ideas! Thanks so much to Sharon of Celtic Knot Events, Photographer Kate Bean, and the rest of this talented team for sharing your beautiful work with us. There's lots more details in the gallery below.
