From a dancefloor in Germany to an ancient castle in Co. Cork. Our real wedding couple Segen and Piers have been on quite the journey. This is perfectly reflected in their stunning wedding film which captures the binding of two cultures, two families, and most importantly two hearts. Our beautiful bride Segen is from Eritrea, in Eastern Africa, while our groom Piers hails from Cork, Ireland. The ceremony was held in his home county at the Carrig Na Curragh Castle, Inchigeelagh and was the first wedding to be held on the historic grounds in 250 years. The two families with connections to Eritrea, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well as Ireland, were brought together in a field in West Cork in love, in what the couple like to see as a symbol of the oneness of the human family.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect for an intimate ceremony beneath the trees, as they pledged their commitment to each other in a Baha'i wedding ceremony by the river Lee. This involves a relatively simple ceremony, without a celebrant or any traditional rituals. Instead, the couple is free to incorporate any music, readings, or prayers that they wish. The only requirement is that they include the following vow: “We will all, verily, abide by the will of God". With an Irish harp and violin playing, and friends and family reciting and singing prayers, and readings in English, French and German, videographer Limelight Wedding Films, caught this heartwarming union in all its glory.
We must thank Segen and Piers for sharing their incredibly moving wedding film with us, and a special thank you to Limelight Wedding Films for capturing this picturesque ceremony in all its glory.
