Southern belle Megan and Cork lad Michael got married in Barnabrow Country House in Midleton. Overlooking Ballycotton, it's a gorgeous venue, even more so on a sunny day like they enjoyed. Megan really went all out on the details, all beautifully captured in this wedding film by Best Day Productions.

We just had to get a few details from this beautiful bride.

So, fill us in on how you two lovebirds met...

After I graduated from college in America, I decided to see a little bit of the world, so I moved to Ireland for what was originally meant to be only a three-month stay. But a couple of weeks before I was scheduled to move back home to Dallas, I met Mike on a night out in Cork City. He was there with a group of his friends, who all happened to be named Mike as well! Not to mention the fact that I had just stopped seeing another guy named Mike only a few weeks earlier...talk about overwhelming! He chatted me up with lines from the TV show "Dallas" (so smooth...not!). But It must have worked because I agreed to go out with him and he took me to my first ever hurling match on our first date. Since I was leaving Ireland in just a few weeks, we decided to try to keep it casual. That obviously didn't work, and after only four months at home in Texas, I moved back to Ireland and here we are married two-and-a-half years later!

And how did Mike pop the question?!

Mike and I live in East Cork and we like to take our two sheepdogs for walks along the cliffs in Ballycotton. On this particular occasion, Mike was acting a little distracted, but I didn't really think much of it as he's always pretty goofy anyway! Then he just stopped and turned me around to face him and asked me, "So.....what are your plans for the rest of your life?" It was perfect for us. The gorgeous antique sapphire/diamond ring he pulled out didn't hurt either!

We know its hard to choose, but what was your favourite moment of the day?

That is a hard one. We were married in May on the first really warm and sunny day of the year and it was just so lovely to be able to be outside celebrating in the sunshine. Barnabrow House was a gorgeous setting.

We took care of the legal stuff the week before so we were able to write our own ceremony and that was really special and important to us. We had a celtic handfasting as part of the ceremony and of course the only time I teared up the whole day was when my hands were tied together with Mike's! It was just such a beautiful, personal and intimate ceremony and to be able to share that with our closest friends and family was such a wonderful experience.

Mike and I went by ourselves to Sean McGrath's pub in Ballycotton for some photos & a pint after the ceremony and that alone time was really nice and relaxing.

Our band, The Big Jigs were teaching all the Americans the Siege of Ennis and they could not get enough of it! Mike and I stepped back from the crowd late that night and just seeing everyone having such a great time was also a favourite moment of the day! We really tried to make sure we were enjoying every moment and not worrying about everything going to plan. It was an absolutely amazing day!

Thanks again to Megan and Mike for sharing their day with us!
Thanks too to Rodolphe from Best Day Productions for this beautiful film.
