Last November, on a crisp winter's morning, Ashling and David tied the knot in the beautiful wedding venue of Virginia Park Lodge. An exquisite and exclusive spot, overlooking spectacular views of Lough Ramor, in the cozy 18th-century lodge and glass-walled marquee. Creative duo Wonder & Magic were behind the lens capturing each laugh and smile throughout the magical day, starting with the finer details! An iconic Chanel bridal fragrance, delicate jewellery, and a bespoke crushed velvet ring box - not forgetting the gorgeous shoes!

David and Ashling, are just about childhood sweethearts. They first locked eyes with one another in 2009 at a friend's 21st birthday party, but their stars had not quite aligned - yet! David explains: "After a chance sighting in September 2011, we started messaging again and we went on our - second - first date and we finally became a couple in December 2011."

Ashling's wedding dress is the perfect combination of simplicity and detail - that silhouette with that texture is sublime. The strapless princess gown is the perfect choice for winter's black-tie attire. Beautifully detailed and finished with a full-length veil. Elegant and classic and also practical with a split up the front. A refreshing and modern twist too. She purchased the Jesus Peiro beauty and veil in one of our favourite boutiques -  The White Room, in Mullingar. And as for the glorious shoes, the crystal clear peep-toes added the right amount of glam to the overall look.

David chose a unique and rich shade for his wedding attire. He dazzled in a burgundy velvet tuxedo jacket, paired with a matching velvet bowtie. Very dapper! Ashling chose the iconic Hollywood waves for her bridal hair - one of our favourites. The timeless style complemented her glamorous look allowing her makeup and accessories to pop!

Something Blue! Her beautiful bride tribe wore petrol blue which is a cool take on the popular navy trend, stylishly contrasting David's rich burgundy shade.

David and Ashling's most important element was to simply share their special day with loved ones. "Having friends and family present on the day was very special to us both, considering how locked down we had all been for the previous years. Getting to have the craic with everyone was great!" said David. "Our main priority was for everyone to have a good time and to have an enjoyable day from start to finish!"

The newlyweds fell in love with the Virginia Park Lodge for their wedding for the same reasons we all fall in love with it! The hospitality, uniqueness, and of course the food. David recall's the moment they knew it was the one: "For us, it was the Pavilion Dining Room where the dinner was served. The room's layout was just perfect. The draped ceiling lights and the hanging floral arrangements above the table made it so unique. We also loved how the top table was in the middle of the room."

A gorgeous moon gate frames the table plan at the entrance of the dining room! Moongate arches have become a super popular décor trend and it's easy to see why! The banquet-style tables were dressed with an abundance of scattered greenery and tall tapered candles. The twinkling ceiling lights paired with the natural candlelight create the most romantic winter ambiance! The creative couple repurposed old whiskey bottles to use as table names. The overall vibe of the day was: "quite humorous, to suit our personalities which set the atmosphere for the day and night. Full of love, fun, and laughter."

The wedding cake boasted an art deco feel whilst keeping in theme with a navy and gold colour palette. We couldn't conclude this wedding without asking the lovely couple for some words of advice. They said: "Enjoy the process and start planning early. Setting aside a few hours every week should make it more manageable. Try not to get too stressed, everything falls into place on the day."
