An enchanting dress brought to life with exquisite floral applique, pampas filled bouquets set against the pastoral chic décor of this country house. A fusion of old-world and contemporary aesthetics gel together to create something spectacular. Be our guest as we invite you to take a closer look into the wedding captured by Susie Kelly Photography.
Horetown House is the perfect venue when looking for something different. Surrounded by wildflowers and picturesque countryside, Ciara and David enhanced the regal venue by adding their own alternative modern twist. Using the house's moody interior lighting as well as brighter rustic spots to great effect, meant the rings , accessories and dress were captured to full effect.
Chloe's bouquet is loosely made up of a wonderfully whimsy selection of pampas grass, eucalyptus and our absolute autumnal favourite - hanging amaranthus. A laid-back yet ethereal style that sits perfectly in place. The ladies of the bridal party who wore statement floral robes as they prepped, described the day as stress-free. "It was so enjoyable and easy going. The team at Horetown took all the stress from us from the moment we came in the door," said Chloe.
Such a sweet emotional moment! Chloe's father played a special part in their wedding creating DIY projects with Chloe, which you can read more about below.
Chloe's exquisite dress embodies a relaxed, glamorous style. The A-line dress with voluminous sleeves showcases gorgeous floral detail. While her bridesmaids dazzled in cool-toned sage allowing the burnt orange florals the chance to pop. Complementing this palette, the mother of the bride looked incredible in her embellished teal dress and matching headpiece.
Anna the darling little flower girl - who we were told was the 'best girl' on the day - has stolen our hearts. With a chocolate treat awaiting her at the top of the aisle, she adorably made her way up in a beautiful little dress, floral wand in hand and mini Converse shoes.
Chloe and David, who are currently building their forever home in Waterford met in 2012. Their proposal was very romantic and incredibly special. Unfortunately, around the time Dave wanted to propose, Chloe’s grandfather was unwell. On a Sunday morning in March 2020, Dave gave Chloe a late Valentine's Day present - a book called The Story of Davis & Clody. "It documented the seven years we'd been together and on the last page it said ‘Will you marry me?’ I was an emotional mess but so surprised and thrilled. We went straight over to my grandad in the care home and luckily he got to see it before he passed 10 days later," says Chloe.
The couple opted for a handfasting ceremony a symbolic unity ritual in which a couple's hands are tied together - hence the phrase, tying the knot! Chloe made the cords with the help of YouTube tutorials. She also braided charms into the cord for an extra personal touch. We love a DIY bride! The alluring textured moon gate was completely enhanced with plentiful eucalyptus, pampas grass and overflowing earthy foliage. Later that evening the couple re-purposed the boho moon gate into a photo op spot for their guests.
The groom and groomsmen wore striking deep navy suits paired with brown leather shoes. Their buttonholes displayed thistle, a great floral option to add texture and even your 'something blue'.
The industrial-looking copper sign was creatively constructed by Chloe and her dad. "Myself and my dad actually made this following a YouTube tutorial. It was really nice for us to do this together. He failed to inform me I needed gloves for my non-builder hands while he was soldering the pipes together!" laughs Chloe.
Twinkling ceiling lights, gold sequin table runners and autumnal floral centrepieces awaited the guests as they arrived into The Garden Room at Horetown House. And the pampas grass, eucalyptus and even the moon gate styling were all represented on the mouthwatering naked wedding cake. "Our priorities were venue, music and food and, by God, did both deliver. Horetown's Jacob’s Ladder beef dish - take me back!" says Chloe.
The couple had a huge amount of involvement when it came to the décor which was of extreme importance. Chloe who has certainly proved her creativity, expressed how special it was to have been able to add all the DIY elements and personal touches. Last but not least, their advice to couples who are planning is an oldie but such a goodie. "After the ceremony take 15 minutes alone as bride and groom. Our photographer and videographer gave us this time after our pictures and it was so appreciated. It’s a cliché, but the day goes so quickly. Try not to worry and just be present for every special moment of the day," said the couple.
