Real weddings are always our first port of call for spotting trends and gathering ideas, and if you're currently planning your big day, we reckon you should be doing the same! In our latest Saturday Selection post, you'll find four unique celebrations that captured our hearts, and we hope will capture yours, too - if you fancy following an American couple to the Giant's Causeway, taking a stroll around St. Stephen's Green, and peeking inside not one, but two Irish castles, you've come to the right place!
Pretty Pastels and Unexpected Snowfall: Seana & John
When Seana and John were planning their Easter wedding at Cabra Castle, they never imagined that it would be snowing on the big day! But the abrupt shift in the weather didn't stop them from having the greatest party of their lives! "We had the most magical day," Seana tells us. "It sounds like a cliché but everything was perfect from start to finish." The couple's delicate colour palette of pale pinks, blues and peach shades worked so beautifully with the luxurious interiors at Cabra Castle, giving the whole day a timeless and opulent feel. The castle's drawing rooms provided the most beautiful backdrop for photographer Hannah McKernan, too - these have to be among our all-time favourite indoor wedding portraits!
A Celebration of Love and Music: Cian & Niamh
This loved-up pair had a lot of friends and family members that they just couldn't picture tying the knot without - around 300 in total - but their wedding at Lough Rynn Castle still felt cosy and intimate, thanks to the personal touches they incorporated throughout the day. Music was the number one priority and source of inspiration for Cian and Niamh, who are both musicians - Cian sang to Niamh as she walked up the aisle, the ceremony featured a huge session of about 30 players (including the bride and groom and their bridal party), and culminated in a Guard of Honour featuring dozens of musical instruments! And that's before we even get to the reception! Wojciech Koza's did such an incredible job on the photographs - you can see more of them over on his blog.
Just the Three of Us: Amanda & Bryant
You know we love a good elopement! Washington couple Amanda and Bryant's big day was captured in gorgeous detail by LIT Photography NI, and featured just one guest, Bryant's Mom! The couple started their day with a civil ceremony in Coleraine, which photographer Lauren describes as "one of the most emotional I have ever witnessed." They exchanged vows in jeans and leggings before heading to their B&B, where the three of them got changed in front of one tiny mirror (side note: Amanda's dress was an absolute steal at $80!) From there, they travelled to Murlough Bay for portraits before heading onto Dunluce Castle, where Bryant's Mom guided them in exchanging vows. We highly recommend viewing the full set of photographs - you'll find them on Lauren's site here.
A Walk in the Park: Rebecca & Cian
Bronté Photography's Tanya first met Rebecca and Cian at our very own Glitter Studio, so, as we pore over these beautiful photographs, we're absolutely thrilled to have played a part in bringing them together! Their big day was all about classic elegance, and the constantly buzzing atmosphere of Dublin city - they started with a ceremony in Newman University Church before going for a stroll with their bridal party in St. Stephen's Green park and partying the night away in the luxurious surroundings of The Shelbourne Hotel. Rebecca and Cian wanted relaxed, candid photography and that's exactly what they got - they make the most gorgeous couple, don't you think!?
