Yesterday, we brought you the first half of Shauna and Barry's heart-stopping real wedding at The Lodge at Ashford Castle but really, we only just scratched the surface! We've still got wedding portraits, reception décor and one seriously stylish wedding cake to share, plus a little snippet of the couple's exceptionally cool day-after party! If you've seen Part One, you'll know that Shauna and Barry have got the most incredible eye for detail, which was put to great use at their evening reception. Again, we're sharing images by Craig and Eva Sanders Photography, so if you're ready to have your mind blown, let's go!
The hip flask from Barry's groomsmen hamper came in very handy during the portrait session!
Shauna and Barry tell us that their top priority during wedding planning was finding the right location. "The Lodge at Ashford gave us everything we wanted," Barry explains. "It was an intimate venue with an amazing landscape, and there were lots of activities for our friends and families who were travelling - we chartered a boat with our guests the next day."
The couple's favourite thing about The Lodge at Ashford Castle "was 100% the landscape and views." We can see why!
Second on their list of priorities was finding the right people to document the day. "We were so happy to find our photographers, Craig and Eva Sanders, and videographers, Eoin and Sue from Hitched Films," Barry says. "Both had great style - clean and crisp with beautiful use of light and a candid feel, which was everything we wanted!"
Barry tells us that Shauna took the lead with the visual elements of the day, including the flowers and décor. "Shauna is very detail-oriented," he says. "She loved getting her creative juices flowing with décor ideas, and having Kate from Love& help execute the design was everything!"
Barry's advice to engaged couples is to allot more time than you think you need for every part of the wedding day. "Getting ready in the morning was a whirlwind," he says. "It was calm and relaxed and then suddenly we were running behind schedule. I would have given myself more time to get ready - everything on the day of your wedding will take more time then you think!"
The couple drove from the church to The Lodge at Ashford Castle in their own Datsun 280zx. I think I've found my new dream car!
We couldn't resist sharing some full-length shots of the bridal party in their finery! Shauna chose five Reformation gowns in complimentary shades of white and blush pink for her girls - don't they look stunning!?
Shauna adjusted her hairstyle slightly for the evening reception, when she swapped her sophisticated chignon for big, loose curls.
The couple carried their colour palette of pale pinks and fuchsias through to their dining space décor, and even their donut wall!
We're still not done marvelling at Keady Row's stationery! Using the same stationer for all of the written elements of your wedding gives the day such a memorable look and atmosphere.
The couple used a mid century-inspired circle bar cart in a brass finish to display their cake. I love this idea - not only does the cart serve as an elegant alternative to a traditional cake table, but it'll make a gorgeous addition to your living room after the big day is over!
Have you ever seen a lovelier tablescape?! The tapered candles and Chiavari ghost chairs give the space such a light, airy feel!
How pretty is this jewellery-adorned updo that Craig and Eva Sanders spotted on one of the guests? We can see a lot of brides and bridesmaids replicating this look!
Shauna and Barry must have had the most stylish guest list ever! We can't cope!
We're dying to know what's making the happy couple laugh so hard in this photograph, mostly so we can steal the jokes for our next wedding speech post!
For their second-day celebrations, the couple chartered a boat to take them and their pals on a sightseeing tour of Lough Corrib, complete with pints of Guinness and a rousing trad session. This looks like so much fun!
The following day, Barry and Shauna jetted off to Northern Croatia for a few days of rest and relaxation. "We are hoping to go to Asia next year for a 'proper' honeymoon," Barry adds.
These two are so adorable, I've officially run out of words! We have to say a huge thank you to Craig and Eva Sanders Photography for sharing the images with us, and, of course, to Shauna and Barry for letting us fawn over their wedding for two whole days. We won't forget this beauty in a hurry!
