Saturday Selection: Gardens of Ireland

From Kilkenny to Clonakilty the sun was shining for these gorgeous weddings

A Coppers love story, a late priest and an intimate affair... All three real weddings from today's Saturday Selection are unique, with their own style, atmosphere, and story behind them. But what they have in common - glorious gardens. After a long and sunny summer, Irish wedding photographers have been capturing beautiful wedding portraits in some of the prettiest gardens up and down the country, and we're chuffed to share just three of them today...

Sunshine and Smiles: Emma & Mark

Mark wasn't waiting on Emma to be fashionably late on his wedding day, it was the priest who was 40 minutes late to their ceremony at Carmelite Friary Church in Kildare Town. But the bride took it in her stride, and after a few drives around the block, the couple finally got to say 'I Do'. Their laid-back nature was rewarded with the sunniest day of the year for their reception at Killashee House Hotel, which allowed them plenty of time in the garden to grab these gorgeous photos with Mark Donovan Photography. A Long Way from Coppers: Ailbhe & Ivan

Ailbhe & Ivan met when they were just 20 at Coppers, and since then have travelled the world together and lived in Canada. Their wedding day at the spectacular Mount Juliet was all about the attention to detail, as Ailbhe is a veil designer she pieced together her gorgeous look herself. A G&T fan, the bride based the table plan on different gins, with cupcakes as place cards - sounds like our kind of party! The couple say their day was fun-filled and energetic with drinks on the lawn, and a personalised party playlist. Mark Griffin Photography captured all the fun, see more of his work here.

A Relaxed Affair: Madeline & Gearoid

Madeline and Gearoid married in beautiful West Cork with an intimate church ceremony before joining all their family and friends at Dunmore House Hotel for a cake-filled party. The beautiful gardens at the church played backdrop for their romantic portraits with Eden Photography, before the couple and their guests took in the views over Inchydoney Beach for their reception. The couple wanted lots of time to chat and mingle and enjoy the fun at their own wedding - and that's just what they got with their laid-back celebration in Clonakilty.
