Maximum craic, minimum traditions and not much fuss were the requirements for Eimear and Conor's Cloughjordan House wedding and boy did they pull it off! This chilled couple made sure to start their day with a relaxed atmosphere which then flowed throughout the celebrations. Add in excellent food, great music by family and friends until the wee hours of the morning and you have one perfect day. One Fab Day pal Ivana Patarcic captured all the fun and the wedding details, we just can't wait to share them all with you today...
Eimear explains how it all began for these lovebirds..."My sister was dating a guy called Daniel, he was excited for her to meet his friend Conor that had come back from travelling. My sister Niamh liked him, but not as much as me! It became pretty obvious from the start that Conor and I would get together. We started going out 8 years ago. I used to say my sister and I had “bestfriend boyfriends” but we have upgraded them both to “bestfriend husbands!”" We bet this makes double dates so much more fun!
After lots of double dates and fun adventures together Conor romantically proposed whilst on holidays. Eimear fondly remembers..."Conor and I were only holidays in Portugal. We went for a walk along the coast in the moonlight after dinner. It was really special."
Eimear was effortless in a stunning Frilly Frocks gown.
Don't her bridesmaids look gorgeous too? We love this shade of crimson paired with the beautiful bouquets by Flowers by Ann.
Prior to the ceremony, the couple along with their wedding party met for some tea and sandwiches complete with a bearded man and bovril. Eimear explains what happened..."Conor and I like to camp and love the outdoors, so we had a picnic complete with sandwiches, flasks of tea, coffee and hip flasks before the ceremony. It was a really relaxed way to take the bridal party photos and put me at ease, it was lovely to spend time together before all the guests arrived. (One of the groomsman doesn’t drink tea or coffee so it has been a long running joke that he loves a hot bovril! We also made him wear a black beard to match the groom and the best man.)" We really love this idea to take a few moments away from the madness to really take it all in and have a decent cuppa! Also, such a lovely memory to have of the day with your closest friends.
Eimear and Conor's big day features lovely touches throughout the day including a traditional Irish music at the ceremony thanks to Eimear's mum's music group.
They chose the stunning grounds of Cloughjordan House to celebrate their I do's. The reception space was decorated in a minimal yet beautiful way with lots of foliage and simple geometric and bulb details.
There is nothing better then home brew and it's even better when your family produce it..."Daniel, my brother-in-law, has been brewing beer for years and really has it down to a fine art. He made a selection of craft beers for us. Another very talented friend designed the labels. He included some in- jokes on the label which made our guests laugh, along with practical advice such as “may cause spontaneous dancing.” The groom had a labeling party with some friends two nights before the wedding and completed the all important quality control taste test."
This beautiful couple have some great advice when planning your big..."Surround yourself with soundness! Everyone involved in our wedding was extremely sound, from the hair and make-up ladies, to our wonderful photographer, our celebrant, the band and the staff in Cloughjordan House. Choose wisely and then put your faith in the professionals." The couple go on to say..."The day should be a reflection of you as a couple, don’t do anything because you think you should or it is expected. We didn’t have a cake, or a car or a traditional first dance." As we always say here at One Fab Day, don't forget that it's your day, your way!
Huge congratulations to you both on your beautiful wedding day and thank you so much for sharing it all with us. A big thank you also goes to Ivana Patarcic Photography for sharing her work with us. To see more from Ivana Patarcic visit www.ivanapatarcic.com
