We've fallen just a little bit in love with today's real wedding couple. Eddie and Rich chose to celebrate their love with a stylish and secret London wedding, waiting until the next day to share the news with family and friends as newlyweds. Their day, their way. Something we preach here at One Fab Day and we couldn't love this little wedding more! Small and with no added bells and whistles, Eddie and Rich's wedding was everything a wedding should be - filled with love, the couple's personalities and their commitment to each other. On hand to capture all the amazing moments was the talented Hector from We Heart Pictures and we're thrilled we get to share it with you all today...
Eddie first laid eyes on Rich in a night club and she confesses... "Rich owns a nightclub in Wimbledon and I used to go there every weekend hoping he’d notice me! In the end he did, but it took another six months and some very short sequined hot pants for him to ask for my number."
To propose, Rich surprised Eddie on their joint birthday in Mexico. Eddie fills us in... "We share the same birthday, so go away on holiday every year. Two years ago we went to Mexico for our birthday and Rich proposed on the beach. He handed me a vintage X-Men viewfinder and told me it was my birthday present – inside was actually a personalized disk with photos of our life, our daughter, our cats and “Will You Marry Me?” as the last slide." How awesome is that!?
Adore this quirky bag by Sophia Webster...
Forgoing tradition, Eddie and Rich married in City hall in London, with only four witnesses and didn't tell their family and friends until the following day. They explain the feel for the day... "No stress, no drama and for the whole day to be about the two of us committing our lives to each other witnessed by four of our closest friends."
Loving their style, from Eddie's Chi Chi London 1950's inspired dress with a black bow and fun shoes to Rich's tartan pants and red kicks.
Sometimes we can be stuck for the right words, even on the big day, to say how we're truly feeling. Pen to paper is an intimate way to get all the words out and to share your most cherished thoughts and feelings with that special someone. This is exactly what Eddie and Rich did the night before the wedding. Staying true to their beliefs, the couple exchanged letters the night before the ceremony. They explain... "...just before we fell asleep, we gave each other letters that we had written before the day. We wanted to do this instead of writing our own vows, as we wanted to keep this part completely private."
Sealed with a love lock!
Eddie and Rich wanted to keep the cost of the wedding down and they managed to spend just over £3000 in total. The majority of the money being spent on their dining experience at Hawksmoor, which they felt was worth every single penny! Eddie's Sophia Webster handbag was more expensive than her wedding dress, but something we reckon she'll use over and over again...
Eddie and Rich share some valuable knowledge when planning a wedding. "Do it however you both want to do it. Keep the traditions that you want, do away with the ones you don’t, and don’t be bullied by anyone telling you what you “should do!”
Huge congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous wedding day with us all! A big thank you also goes to the talented Hector for sharing his work with us.The couple couldn't recommend Hector enough. They go on to say... "Absolutely perfect! It was like having a friend with us taking the photos. It was such an intimate and private day and Hector from, We Heart Pictures was brilliant and captured exactly what we wanted."
