Once engaged the venue for Sarah and Simons wedding was a no brainer. Blessed with a beautiful family home, Sarah and Simon hosted their wedding amongst the gardens at Sarah’s parents house. Inspired by their surroundings Sarah and Simon adapted a loose wildflower theme with simple, pretty results - all captured by Delicious Photography to inspire you today...
Like many of us, Sarah and Simon first met in a nightclub. Simon jokes... "I like to think it was my charm and good looks that did it, but I think Sarah overheard me talking to my friends about the potential impact of the new 50% tax rate on our salaries and was interested in my high-earning potential…Plus we had both had a few cocktails!"
Simon goes on to tells us how he proposed... "We were on holiday in Burgundy. I set Sarah a 20 question quiz about the time we had spent together, I did this quiz over three days and a letter from each answer spelt out an anagram of the question ‘Froody will you marry me?’ She said yes, happiest day of my life."
When it came to picking a venue Sarah and Simon were lucky to have Sarah’s parents home and gardens as an option. They gush... "Sarah’s parents’ home was the obvious choice, with beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside. Plus having a marquee in the garden gave us the freedom to really make the day our own."
Embracing the beauty of the gardens Sarah and Simon choose to decorate with wildflowers, which were also used in Sarah’s bouquet and hair. So simple, yet so pretty and effective.
Simon details... "We loved the fact that we were able to put everything together ourselves – although it was stressful at times! Sarah’s parents and some of our wedding party put in a lot of time with us putting together our wedding favours, table plan and some of the other personal touches for the day. We then spent the day before the wedding along with our fantastic florist transforming the gorgeous blank marquee canvas and pagodas with flowers and table decorations into a stunning wedding venue. The best part of the day was knowing how personal we were able to make it and how much fun we’d had with family and friends putting it together."
For their honeymoon, Sarah and Simon enjoyed a wine tour around southern Australia over Christmas. Huge congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing your wedding with us all. A big thank you also goes to Delicious Photography for sharing their work with us. To see more from Delicious Photography visit www.deliciousphotography.co.uk
