From Safaris to the seaside, and everything in between, this year's couples have taken us to some amazing places all over the world along with the wonderful photographers who captured their big days. We are so honoured to be able to feature the real weddings that grace our pages and share them with our readers. We put a heck of a lot of work into our Real Wedding features so it's no surprise we fall a little bit in love with each and every couple along the way. Every love story is unique, every batch of images are beautiful and they all have their very own look and feel. So, here's a little look at just some of our teams favourite weddings of 2016...
Editor-in-Chief Naoise
A wedding is the ultimate celebration of love, in all its forms, not just of the couple but the incredible love of friends and family. Sharron and Gary's wedding was both beautiful and poignant as Sharron sadly lost her beloved Mum just two months before the day. But as per her Mum's wishes, they ploughed ahead with the festivities and honoured her with an amazing celebration of their love for her and each other. A truly beautiful wedding in every way.
Naoise also loved Emma and Ryan's rock n roll wedding at Mount Druid and Regina and Niall's dreamy after-wedding beach portraits.
Creative Director Susan
I loved Sofie + Seán's Alternative Kilruddery House Wedding. Kilruddery is always a stunning venue, but this is a beautifully relaxed wedding with the ultimate homemade dessert table - it looks SO good!
Deputy Editor Karen
Katherine + Thomas's Authentic Vintage Wedding captured by Paige MacPherson blew me away in so many ways, the venue, the dedication to the overall genuine vintage look and their darling love story. I also loved that both the bride and grown wore their grandparents wedding outfits, a true vintage dream!
Having had the honour of being a guest at their wedding it's no surprise that Helen and John's beautiful Temple House wedding by Savo Photography is also on my list of favourites as well as the gorgeous Cat from The Cake Cuppery's Gatsby Wedding to beau Garry.
Junior Editor Niamh
When I first saw Ali and Ray's wedding at Brooklodge by Paula O'Hara I loved the dark and moody colour scheme, but what made it stand out for me was the theme behind it - the haunting beauty of Wuthering Heights (so much so I went and bought the book and read it afterwards!) Overall a really cohesive wedding look, plus a great love story too.
Brand Manager Eimear
I love the creativity that went into every detail of Jemma & Dave's DIY geometric wedding, it was full of glamour and fun!
Eimear also loved Petra & Tim's dreamy destination wedding and Kristina + Simon's super fun wedding
Account Manager Aine
I loved Crystal and John's wedding at Virginia Park Lodge by Annie Kheffache Photography. This wedding had a lovely summer feel to it and I loved the outdoor ceremony.
I loved sweethearts Michelle and Niall's charming Coolbawn Quay wedding as I love the lace dress paired with the floral bridesmaids dresses. And the flowers really caught my eye!
Office Manager Aoife
I loved the whole look of Katie and Bob's Intimate Island Wedding day, but what really clinched it for me was the dress - I'm a big fan of "not white" wedding dresses and this design is just stunning.
Aoife also loved Nina and Matej's nautical wedding in Croatia and Maureen and Simon's beautiful Ballybeg House wedding
Editorial Assistant Alanna
Aisling and Alan's big day truly was a magical outdoor wedding that was filled with DIY decorations. I loved everything about this wedding. Aisling's Alice May wedding dress was absolutely stunning and the setting was picturesque. It felt very homely and that really felt like you could achieve this look. Beautiful bride and couple!
