So the craze for all things vintage + wedding is definitely in full swing in Ireland, and the fun thing about it is how different wedding professionals are rediscovering past techniques to find that vintage twist - one of my personal favourites is 8mm film. You know the old school videos of your parents and grandparents, the stuff that reminds you of the Wonder Years?

So it was a real delight to be sent a lovely 8mm film of an Irish wedding by Rodolphe of Best Day Productions, and not just any old wedding either - the celebration of a certain doyenne of vintage style - the light and life behind Pearl & Godiva Vintage China Hire, a lady many of you know well...

This lovely 8mm wedding video was produced by Rodolphe of Best Day Productions who explained how it came about "I was delighted to produce this 8mm clip for Sara and Michael's Wedding. Definitely high on my list of memorable days out. When the couple  first contacted me for their weddingfilm, they were looking for something original and artistic to reflect their special day. An 8mm clip was the perfect option for them: the grainy, vintage look captures the retro and artful feel of their day."

If, like me, you were wondering where on earth the lovely venue for Sara & Michael's wedding is - it's Glengarrif Lodge, a charming former hunting lodge hidden in the woods on a private island in the Glengarriff River. No surprise that Sara did a beautiful job of enhancing this gorgeous setting with her own decorations and trinkets from her extensive collection at Pearl & Godiva, and also with beautiful blooms from Hanako.

Many thanks to Rodolphe from Best Day Productions for sharing his work with us, and to Sara & Michael for letting us see a little sneak peek of their beautiful day. Congratulations guys!

If you're interested in the 8mm film option for your wedding talk to Rodolphe at Best Day Productions - he will also be at the Wedding Journal Show this weekend.
