It's that time of the week again folks, cannot believe how time is flying. It's nearly the weekend - what are all your plans? Tomorrow sees the hen party of a great friend of mine so expect lots of random pics on facebook 🙂 Anyone heading to a wedding?
For those of you just chilling, maybe a little shopping is in order? Well get the credit cards ready cos we have some very cute things to show you today - from couture shoe clips to handmade lace bunting and a special competition from the lovely ladies at Dirty Fabulous...
First up are these gorgeous shoe clips from Freya Rose, perfect for transforming any style of plain pump, stiletto or peep-toe shoe into some fancy footwear. I'm particularly in love with the Art Deco style ones in mother of pearl and diamante (anyone wanna buy Naoise a pressie?!) They're not cheap by any means, but hey, quality comes at a price and these babies won't wear out - you'll have them twinkling on your toes for years. You might even dance at your 40th anniversary with them on!
You guys know how much we heart the Dirty Fabulous ladies - Kathy & Caroline - and their gorgeous vintage boutique, and I know more than one or two of you have frequented the emporium on Wicklow st. so we were delighted to hear about the competition they're running at the moment. This one isn't for brides-to-be though, they're on the hunt for brides whom they kitted out with dresses or accessories. If you are one, or know of one, then tell them to get a picture of themselves in their vintage gear ready and email it to info@dirtyfabulous.com with the subject title: Bridal Competition. It closes on Sunday 18th so get emailing!! The big prize is this beautiful 1950s rhinestone necklace and earring set worth over €200!
And last, but certainly not least in this week's round up of Stuff We're A-Lovin' is A Room in the Cottage. No, I'm not looking for a place to live 🙂 A Room in the Cottage is the handiwork of Michelle McGuirk, who specialises in the prettiest homewares and decorations, all handmade here in Ireland with love and care.
Michelle got in contact when she spotted her lovely lace bunting at the wedding of Sinead and Enda in the Burlington. As well as the lace bunting she also has a range of handmade wedding favours and ring pillows, and takes special orders as she explained... "A few weeks ago I was asked by a bride to come up with something different for her place names. She wanted to keep a vintage feel to her small wedding but didn't want anything too normal! She also wanted her guests to take home a little gift to remember her special day. So, I came up with these: Lace hanging hearts decorated with rosebuds, a rosette and pearls used instead of name cards. Each guest's name is hand painted and the heart was placed on a vintage china plate. She was delighted and fingers crossed her day will be fantastic." The price for each wedding favour heart is €2.80 but there is a little discount for orders of over 20. The hearts are really aimed at smaller weddings.
You should also check out the dotiest little flower girl apron! Not exactly something for baking in, it definitely adds that touch of rustic chic, and is a real departure from the standard white dress with sash ensembles every flowergirl ends up in.
So that's it folks for this week, hope you're all set for the weekend - Happy FREEEEEEEEEEDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
