For today's wedding theme we have taken inspiration from the golden era and created a striking, glam colour scheme of browns, peaches and mint with bronze and gold accents. This 1920s inspired wedding colour palette merges old world style with modern glamour and is perfect for a wedding at anytime of the year, particularly winter and New Year's Eve where gorgeous and glam style is the order of the day. If you dream of a wedding at Gatsby's Mansion, this is the look for you...
How to create an 1920s inspired wedding...
- Stationery: Choose a suite with a vintage print or script to set the tone for the day. Look to books and posters from the golden era for stationery inspiration.
- Style: Pick a vintage style gown and add in lots of glam in your accessories such as your shoes, headpiece and slick bowties for the groomsmen. For the bridesmaids choose a dress which reflects the era with lots of sparkle and dropped waists. Style hair and makeup with a 1920's look.
- Flowers: Choose beautiful blooms such as full vintage-style David Austin roses, dahlias, tulips and peonies in subtle tones of blush and cream paired with soft green foliage such as eucalyptus and lambs leaf.
- Decor: Add touches of gold to your table centrepieces using gilded gold or bronze candlesticks paired with rich, cascading floral arrangements, beautiful china and cut glassware. Vintage style furniture and trinkets can be dotted around the ceremony and reception for the perfect vintage look.
