What would you do if your fiancé suggested getting married in the local park where he spends most of his time playing sport? Nikki and Jamie did just that, and once you see the results you will find yourself considering a park wedding! Keeping things relaxed Nikki and Jamie held their chic tipi London wedding at Bushy Park. The day was kept simple, with a focus on the bigger elements and a super relaxed approach for to the smaller elements (Marks and Spencer wedding cake anyone?) all captured with style by Louise Wedding Photography.
I am notorious for my inability to make decisions, so when I read Nikki and Jamie's account of how they got together, I totally understood. "We met years ago on a night out. Our paths crossed again at a leaving do for our mutual friend to Buenos Aires. Dated for a while on and off for several months (both not particularly keen!) and then finally got together properly after I sold my flat and talked about moving to Brighton. Date unclear which makes celebrating our anniversary difficult!"
For their proposal it was another case of indecision, and a little more to-ing and fro-ing. Proposal number one (yes, there's two!) happened in the city of romance - Paris. The perfect place for a proposal, but things just didn't quite go to plan. Attempt number two involved a surprise luxury picnic and a fabulous ring.
When it came time for the wedding things seemed to run a whole lot smoother. Both Nikki and Jamie wanted a relaxed wedding, with a bit of a wow factor. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Chelsea Town Hall, with their gorgeous baby in tow. Not just a gorgeous space, Chelsea Town Hall also has a sentimental meaning to Nikki and Jamie as Nikki works in a hospital close by, and their little boy had his birth registered there.
Don't you just love the back of Nikki's dress? Super feminine, with a pretty and relaxed silhouette.
You really can't beat a good confetti shot..
For their rustic tipi reception it was off to Bushy Park, where Jamie spends the majority of the summer playing cricket. As Jamie spends so much time there it once again added an lovely touch of significance to the venue, making the day extra special.
The fab tipis blended in perfectly with the surroundings, ideal for the relaxed vibe but yet with a hint of wow.
That Jenny Packam dress? Swoon...
To inject some personality into their reception space Nikki made all the place settings and pom poms and wrote all the menu boards and signage.
Cutest wedding guest ever? We think so!
Super natural (and beautiful) you would never think Nikki and Jamie were dreading having their pictures taken all day. Luckily for them they chose their photographer wisely, had an engagement shoot to settle their nerves and ended up with this gorgeous shots. "We are so happy with the wedding photos. Being a couple who HATE having our photos taken we were both dreading the thought of being photographed for hours on end. Luckily our complimentary pre-wedding shoot quickly reassured us that it wouldn’t be so bad! We really felt the photos told a story from start to finish and captured so many parts of the day that we will want to look back on in years to come. Louise’s approach was relaxed and calm – at points we almost forgot she was there! We couldn’t be happier."
