Easily the most anticipated movie to be released so far in 2015, 50 Shades of Grey finally hits our screens today and while I know/hope the likelihood of anyone having an actual 50 Shades themed wedding is quite slim, we did think that it was a good opportunity to look at using the colour grey for a wedding theme. What’s great about grey is as a neutral it can be paired up with other colour, but for this 50 Shades of Grey I thought we'd stick with subtle tones around a dove grey and blend them together for a very light airy and pretty look. Not a whip in sight I promise!
Creating this 50 Shades of Grey Wedding
Keep flowers to a minimum, but bring in lots of grey green foliage like lamb's ear and eucalyptus, but you could add in touches of cream or white within the bouquet and centrepieces to give the look a lift.
Metallics such as silvers, coppers and old gold will work well in the decor - we picked stationery with a gold script and a cake with watercolour silver finish. This metallic touch of glam was echoed in the bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses which both have heavy beading.
