So last weekend was the Fall Bridal Market 2011 in New York a.k.a. Bridal Fashion Week, where all the big bridal designers show off their new collections. While most of those showing are designer names that most of us probably won't be purchasing our wedding gowns from, checking out their new bridal collections gives a really good overview of the new trends and styles for the coming season providing a sneak peek of what will be in the shops soon. So over the next few days we're doing a series of posts on all the Fall Bridal Market 2011 shows and designers and giving our overview of the hot bridal trends for 2012.
First up we have Kenneth Pool - a bridal designer probably not that familiar to many, but part of the Amsale stable, and available up north in Petticoat Lane. The Spring 2012 Kenneth Pool wedding dress collection was infused with romance yet still maintained its signature glamour and waist embellishments.
The collection features most of the strong trends that were spotted across the week such as fitted bodices with beautiful ballgown tulle skirts, floral embellishments to the max, frothy layers and creamy duchesse satins.
For 2012 the designer focused on unique fabrications and couture details on the wedding dresses such as artful draping, feather embellishments, elaborate beading and delicate trimming with Swarovski crystals.
Full skirts are the order of the day for 2012 Kenneth Pool wedding gowns so if you're looking for the "princess for a day" feeling, this collection should be one on the list to check out.
