Any regular reader will know that Real Weddings are one of our favourite features on One Fab Day - we adore showing a beautiful, inspiring, love & fun-filled day - they both lift the spirit on a grey Monday morning, and get the creative juices flowing and cogs turning for ideas for all our brides-to-be planning their own day.
Every wedding featured on One Fab Day is beautiful and special, and we are honoured that the couples and photographers share them with us, but as we're at the end of the year looking back over all we've featured we thought we'd recap some of our personal favourite weddings of 2011.
Dreamy Details in Dingle
Colette and Kaspars were wed in Dingle, celebrating their reception in the relaxed atmosphere of Ballintaggart House, a venue that has appeared more than once this year among our real weddings. Magda Lukas was on hand to capture the magical detail and effort that went into this beautiful day in Kerry.
A Vintage Lovers Celebration in Athlone
There's been a lot of "vintage" styling creeping into weddings over the last year or two, so much so that it's becoming a bit of a cookie-cutter style itself, where couples who are not vintage at all, fit themselves into a fad. But true vintage lovers using elements of their favourite era in their wedding celebration can have amazing results - and the gorgeous 60s styling of Kate & Karl's wedding photographed by We Are The Mastersons shows how vintage should really be done.
Sweet Summer Romance at The Village at Lyons
Words are not enough to describe the swoonfest that was Summer & Paul's wedding in the Village at Lyons, captured by Magda Lukas and Christina Brosnan. You will just have to see for yourself - there was so much fabulousness we actually had to post in two parts (part 1 and part 2)
A Dapper Gentleman in London
Bringing it on for the gentlemen we were delighted to see how Rueben stepped up in the style stakes for his wedding to Sarah. Their summertime romance in London by Solas Photography is so relaxed, personal and fun, and very girl I know envied Sarah her man!
Dressed for Love in Dunadry
A wedding known in One Fab Day HQ simply by the words "The Dress", Debbie and Ciaran's wedding was special in so many ways - Debbie's handmade wedding dress, created by her mother was just one. Debbie's exquisite taste and Paula O'Hara's uncanny knack of capturing the intimacy and love of this couple are unparalleled.
Festival Chic in Limerick
Festival styling has been creeping in slowly to Irish weddings, but none could surpass the fantasia that was Joe and Sinead's teaparty meets Electric Picnic celebration in Limerick, photographed by Sean Curtin.
Two Boys Wed in Bellinter
Our first ever civil partnership was a big moment for us, we were delighted to feature the wedding of Will and Aiden, caught on camera by Fiona Brophy - this love of this fantastic couple shines through the photographs leaving you wishing you were a guest to witness a beautiful day.
A Rock'n'Roll Bride in Dublin
One that really stood out from the crowd, there was the Rock'n'Roll wedfest of Jenni & Aled, who celebrated in fantastic style all captured by Anthony Peyper
Epic Romance in Ballinskelligs
And finally...for the unashamed romantics, there was the unadulterated gorgeousness of the breathtaking images of Ruth and Jamie's wedding by KOH - the only other wedding this year that we featured in two parts here they both are (part 1 and part 2) for your enjoyment...
