Wave goodbye to your computer screens this morning and join us on a trip back in time - to the roaring 1920s! Set in the beautiful (and yes we're slightly envious) South of France, today's real wedding couple, Marie and Jullien, celebrated their nuptials with a 1920s outdoor wedding - complete with 1920s style of course! The style stakes went through the roof with wedding guests joining in on the 1920s theme - from flapper girls to dapper gents, today's wedding is not one to miss! Tune out from your Tuesday morning and indulge in the gorgeous photographs by Mamazelle Photography...
Marie met Jullien when he was working as a bartender. Marie would convince her friends to have drinks at his bar so she could see him, but it took more than a few meetings for the pair to get together... I declared my love but he made me wait 6 months! Finally, after seeing a movie with his cousin, we left together and for the first time, we kissed in a storm of thunder and lighting. It was beautiful and we now recall that night as 'The night of lightning'. How incredibly romantic!
Marie started the day in a gorgeous tailored suit to help her man get ready. Many (lucky) brides have two dress options on their wedding day - a wedding gown and an evening dress. Marie mixed it up in a very cool black and white suit at the beginning of the day and just wait till you see her choice of dress... did somebody say BHLDN?
I'm sensing a seriously cool couple already. Marie and Jullien started the day together with some fun and laughter while posing for the camera before heading to the ceremony - what a great way to start your wedding day!
After arriving in style in a vintage car, Marie did a superwoman transformation (with the help of her friends) into a stunning BHLDN dress embellished with beautiful silver and gold sequins.
We love how Marie paired her dress with a feather head-piece and a little vintage purse adorned with flowers.
As promised the guest showed up in 1920s glamour and style, Marie was so touched she cried when she saw all the guests as she arrived at the ceremony!
What a sweet way to carry the rings - in a hollowed out vintage book!
The most important element to a strongly themed wedding is to make sure you (and your guests) will feel comfortable both in the church and at the reception. Marie and Jullien's outfits are timeless with a hint of vintage, so they suit both situations perfectly.
There were simple rustic decorations at the church which helped tie the ceremony and the outdoor reception together.
After sneaking off for some time alone, the newlyweds headed off to meet their guests at their outdoor reception. Wait till you see how they transformed the outdoors into 1920s style...
Marie and Jullien had a two big priorities for their big day, an outdoor wedding and a 1920s theme. They chose an incredible outdoor space for their reception where Jullien's grandparents celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary!
On entering the space Marie and Jullien decorated partition walls with alternative 1920s posters - very cool!
The couple brought the 1920s theme right through to the stunning stationery. We love the little illustrations explaining each item on the food table!
The guests took the 1920s theme very seriously - one of Jullien's uncles even shaved '1920' into his head - now that's commitment!
Unusual teardrop shaped vases make the outdoor space both a little fancy and a lot magical.
Re-cycled furniture and vintage pieces were used as both decor props and serving tables for the food throughout the day.
As the sun came down, the dancing started and the whole reception was lit by candles and twinkling lights.
Congratulations Marie and Jullien on a wonderful 1920s celebration! A huge thanks goes to Mamazelle Photography for transporting us back in time with her work! To see more of Mamazelle's photography pop over to www.mamazelle.com
